Oxidative damage to the lipids and proteins of the lungs of rats upon acute exposure to carbon tetrachloride vapours

Accidental ingestion of Carbon tetrachloride (CCl₄) has been shown to result in inflammation of the small bronchial tubes suggesting that acute inhalation of CCl₄ is toxic to the lungs. The mechanism by which CCl₄ causes damage to the lungs is not clear. The present study is an attempt to examine the possible mechanism of CCl₄ induced injury to the lungs.
