Abstract

Accidental ingestion of Carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) has been shown to result in inflammation of the small bronchial tubes suggesting that acute inhalation of CCl4 is toxic to the lungs. The mechanism by which CCl4 causes damage to the lungs is not clear. The present study is an attempt to examine the possible mechanism of CCl4 induced injury to the lungs.
