It is thirty years since liberalisation of abortion in India. Over the years we have gained good exposure of limitations of the M.T.P. Act, 1971. Pros and cons in relation to various provisions and rules thereof are discussed. Some suggestions are made to make it more at par with similar laws prevailing internationally and women friendly.
