Determination of age from the metamorphosis at costochondral junction of right fourth rib in North-west Indian females of Chandigarh zone

Metamorphic changes at the costochondral junction of right fourth rib of known age belonging to 155 North-West Indian subjects of Chandigarh zone of India were studied as per the method given by Iscan et al (1985) and also as per the modifications suggested in it by Singh D. et al. (1999). With the method given by Iscan et al. only in 42% ribs, age could be determined correctly but when the modifications suggested by Singh D et al. were incorporated in 75 to 87% ribs, age could be determined accurately.
