Two young apparently healthy male laborers lost their consciousness almost instantaneously after entering into sewer to clean it, and collapsed at the spot. The individuals were declared “Brought dead” by the emergency medical officer. Death in both the cases were confirmed to have taken place consequent to inhalation of sewer gas; mostly hydrogen sulphide, from autopsy and chemical analysis.
