We report the death of a young female patient as a result of shock induced by inversion of uterus and massive postpartum haemorrhage. A midwife conducted the delivery at home. This case highlights the need to educate people on the hazards associated with complicated deliveries, and the inherent risk in entrusting such cases to inadequately trained midwives at home.
