Abstract

The effects of air pollution on health have become a major concern in recent years. Most developing countries have a rapidly worsening problem of motor vehicle traffic congestion and associated air pollution. In Kathmandu (Nepal), particulate matter is the major air pollutant and comes primarily from motor vehicle emission. This article reviews the air pollution problems in Nepal, with the objective to implement a well defined policy and an appropriate legal framework to prevent it.
