The determination of time since death is a challenging job for the autopsy surgeon in the crime investigation. There are various parameters available to determine time since death which has been used collectively to determine a range of time in hours or days. In this study we have tried to observe the histological changes in the brain tissue in the postmortem period and correlate with the known postmortem time. We have also studied the influence of temperature changes in various seasons on the histological picture. This non-conventional method can help to improve over the conventional methods for estimating time since death.
