Planning and designing modern physical medicine and rehabilitation department: A lift to disability evaluation and post trauma rehabilitation

Rehabilitation is an integral port of health care system which combines and coordinates the use of medical, social, educational and vocational measures for training the individual to the highest possible levels of functional ability (WHO. 1969)

Particular emphasis is being placed upon the organisation-its structure and purposes plus its operational, managerial and evaluative components.

In this article it will be argued that many services provided today are not eficient, 4 costly and poorly planned and that there is great lack of coordination. There are too many small initiatives, seemingly built on emotional rather than rational approaches. Afrer a sudden burst of enthusiasm, many such projects are abandoned by the donors or sacrificed by governments during periods of ‘economic restructuring’. This leads to victimization of the “beneficiaries”.
