Abstract

Medicine is a noble profession. According to Hippocratic Oath, every registered medical practitioner is supposed to help the sick according to his ability and judgment but never with a view to injury and wrong doing. Legal and ethical aspects of patient care are also very important. There are very high expectations of the patients due to growing consumerisms. Ignorance and lack of knowledge of the doctors lead to unnecessary legal problems. Doctors must know their responsibilities to patient, state and law.
