Menstrual Health Problems and Menstrual Management of Adolescent Girls

Abstract

The objective of the study was to ascertain menstrual health problems and menstrual management of the selected girls. To achieve this objective, 209 girls were selected by purposive sampling technique in the age group of 1114 years from three schools of Chidambaram in Cuddalore District, Tamilnadu, India. After obtaining prior permission from the school authorities, questionnaire was used to elicit information on menstrual health problems and menstrual management. It was evident from the results that majority of the girls reported negative attitude towards menarche and their menstrual management was not satisfactory.
