Medication Error

Medicine heals, but this fact doesn`t hold true for every 300^th patient admitted to hospital. WHO list it among the top 10 killers in the world. Medication errors may sound harmless, but mistakes in prescribing, dispensing and administering medications injure hundreds of thousands of people a year. Yet most medication errors can be prevented. One of the best ways to reduce risk of being harmed by medication errors is to take an active role in health care. Simple vigilance, standardised protocol, and ‘think before act’ are the key factors to avoid occurrence of medication errors.
