Mental illness is a mental and behavioral disorders are understood as clinically significant conditions characterized by alterations in thinking, mood (emotions) or behavior associated with personal distress and or impaired functioning. Mental illness is maladjustment in living. It produces a disharmony in the person's ability to meet human needs comfortably or effectively and function within a culture.
To assess the effectiveness of planned teaching on level of knowledge and attitude among students towards mentally ill person.
The Quasi experimental research design One group pre-test post-test. Sample size (50), Sampling technique used in the study is non-probability convenient sampling.
data collection done by self-administered structure knowledge questionnaire and Likert scale to assess attitude was used.
Analysis using paired ‘t’ test was found to be significant.
The findings of the study revealed that planned teaching helps to gain knowledge and Significant improvement and developed favorable attitude towards mentally ill person
