Seventy-five of them (control) received only routine hospital nursing care, and seventy five (Study group) received the nursing intervention. The nursing intervention included, exercises for improving respiratory functions, blood circulation, intestinal activity, and training for improving posture and prevent possible postnatal musculoskeletal pain problems.

Postoperative ambulation and return of bowel activity occurred earlier in the study group. Also, difficulty in functional activities was highly significantly decreased in the study group than the control group.
