Play is very important part of childhood. Play helps child in their growth and development. Outdoor physical activity is so important for optimal child development.
To assess the knowledge of mothers regarding the importance of outdoor physical activity, to assess the effectiveness of self instructional module among mothers, To determine the association between the pre test knowledge score with their selected demographic variables.
A pre-experimental study one group pre test post test design within control group approach under taken in patan city. Data collection was there 60 Mothers of 6–12 years children.
overall pre test mean score is 9.48 and standard deviation is 1.74. post test mean score is 17.85 and standard deviation is 1.52. “t” value is 26.5. There is no significant association between the knowledge and selected demographic variables.
After introducing self instructional module mothers have improve the knowledge. SIM is an effective technique in inducing the knowledge level of mothers regarding importance of outdoor physical activity.
