Abstract

Nomographs to design uniform graded bund in heavy soils have been developed for various combinations of discharge, channel slope, land slope, rainfall and vegetative cover conditions. Graphical representation for different design parameters in the form of nomograph has been developed by establishing required mathematical relationships for various combinations of input variables. The use of developed nomographs for designing graded bunds is highly time saving, accurate and is applicable for the design of uniform without disposal channel for heavy soils. These nomographs are likely to be very useful and user's friendly for the soil & water conservation agencies who are working under field conditions.
