Abstract

The study was undertaken to estimate the geomorphological characteristic features using Geographical Information System (GIS) for Devasugurnala watershed in the Raichur district, Karnataka. Devasugurnala watershed lies in the North-Eastern Dry Zone of agro climatic set up. Watershed joins Krishna river near Devasugur village. The Devasugurnala watershed was delineated into 17 sub watersheds using Arc SWAT. The linear aspects of drainage network, aerial aspects of watershed and relief aspects of stream network were determined. The thematic maps like drainage pattern, contours, watershed boundary and Gram Panchayat were also developed for the watershed.
