In the present study an assessment of perception of education system in India is done. Further, the influence of their course and gender were also verified for their perception regarding education system. India. A structured questionnaire prepared by the author was employed to assess the pull factors and influence of age and gender on them. A sample of 468 students (10 per cent of the total Iranian students studying in India) was selected using stratified random sampling technique. These 468 students were selected proportionately to the levels and courses of education they have joined. To find out the influence of course and gender on perception of education system in India, contingency coefficient test was employed using SPSS for windows software. Results revealed that 78.21 per cent of the sample students were contended with the ability of the professors. When compared across courses, the Ph.D students were more contended than students studying in bachelors or masters courses. In research, 85.04 per cent of the sample students satisfied with their research supervisors and only about 33 per cent of the sample students were happy with the research facilities available in the universities. 61.11 per cent of the sample students expressed that they were not satisfied with the examination system. Further, bachelors and Ph.D scholars were not convinced about examination system. Lastly, the perception of students about the quality of academic life in the Indian universities slightly varied by gender.Further, it was observed that excepting the image of professors, the female students were not satisfied on other factors like the examination system, relationship with other staff or with supervisor and lecturers and the university facilities.
