IJSER is a peer-reviewed online professional journal. The journal is a forum for scholars from around the world to share their research experiences for the advancement of social and economic issues. The journal is multi disciplinary, with a focus on development issues, society, culture, politics, gender, indigenous knowledge, poverty, social security, education, health, and the ecology of the globe. Articles under consideration elsewhere or already published (in English or any other language) should not be sent to the Journal. Author(s) should ensure that they are not infringing on any copyrights. Articles, whether solicited or unsolicited, which do not pass the first round of screening will be rejected immediately. If deemed suitable for further consideration, articles (in the second round) will be sent to external referees under the direction of a reviewing editor. Authors are encouraged to send an electronic version of their manuscript in MS-WORD formats to expedite the reviewing process. Articles should be sent directly to the Editor-in-Chief.

A full-length article should not exceed 6000-8000 words (including tables and figures) or 10-15 printed pages, typed double- spaced on one side - with a left side margin of 1.5" and 1" on the other three sides. Articles should include an abstract not exceeding 250 words and logically divided sections with headings and sub-headings.

A submission of article in an electronic form is preferred. Articles should be sent directly to the Editor-in-Chief (marvin@trentu.ca) and a copy to the co editor (anthroedit@ymail.com) Upon receipt, each article is given a reference number, which should be quoted in all subsequent correspondences.

A separate sheet should contain the name of the author(s), mailing address, and email. Authors should write their papers in a way as to ensure that their identities are not revealed to the referees. There should also be a declaration of originality of the article and the fact that it is not currently under consideration by any other journal. Please make clear which type of article is being submitted (see below).

Review Process: Every article is reviewed by at least 2 referees, using a double-blind system. The criteria for acceptance are: contemporary relevance, value-added to the literature, sound analysis, relevance to a global problem or issue, valid methodology, and good presentation. Selection of articles will be based on the referees' reports. Authors will be notified of a decision within 2-3 months from the date of submission. Highly topical papers will receive higher priority in publication. If a paper is rejected, it cannot be resubmitted.

The editorial office will endeavour to assist non-native English speaking authors. However, authors whose first-language is not English should have their papers edited prior to submission.

Types of articles include:

Survey articles: These should discuss current trends in research in a field that would be of interest to readers outside of the field.

Research Articles: These should report original research results of major global, social, and policy significance.

Special Articles: These articles are intended to be reviews of research from the author's personal research experiences, field-based study, case studied or an upcoming book.

Notes: These short papers are directed at dissemination of preliminary results or findings. Contributions to this section of the journal should not exceed five pages. They should follow the same style and format as full papers except that they need not be divided into sections. Justification should be given as to why they should be considered under this section.

Proceedings of conferences: Manuscripts of proceedings may be submitted (after being refereed and properly edited by the organizer/guest editor) in a camera-ready format. Prior approval from the Editorial Board, however, is required for its publication.

Letter to the editor: letters to the editor commenting on published articles is welcome. These should be constructive comments and cannot exceed 500 words. The Journal may also publish special issues under the guidance of a Guest Editor or on occasion invite papers from prominent Social /economists on a certain topic.

Copyrights: The Editorial Board reserves the right for accepting or rejecting any article and in the final stage, prior to publication, making suitable alternations and amendments, without consulting the author. The author owns the copyright of the article until the article is officially accepted by the journal for publication. After acceptance, the Rural Organization for Appropriate Development -ROAD TRUST(R),Mysore, Karnataka State- India owns the copyright of the articles. Every year TRUST will bring edited volumes selecting best articles published in that year. Trust has every rights to include any article or exclude any article for that book published in this journal. The authors should not be reproducing their articles elsewhere without prior written permission from the Managing Editor/TRUST. Views/facts/data presented in an article are exclusively that of the writers. The Editors, Editorial Board, Advisory Board, or TRUST or any people affiliated with the journal are no way responsible for the views and opinions expressed by the authors or outcome of the research. Every effort has been made to ensure compliance with requirements of copyright clearance and appropriate credits. Errors should be brought to the attention of the publisher. Commercial use of the journal and its contents are expressly prohibited without the written permission of the TRUST.

Documentation: Material used from other publications must be properly credited.

Claims: claims for undelivered copies may be made no latter than three months following the month of publication. The publisher will supply missing copies when losses have been sustained in transits and when reserve stocks permit.

Change of address: Three weeks advance notice must be given when notifying change of address. Please supply the old address label to ensure proper identification.

Proofs: Normally proofs are not sent to the author(s) except in special circumstances. Editing will be done on the article to suit to the style of the journal if that is required.

Figures: the number of figures should be kept to the minimum. Each figure must be referred to in the text, be numbered and have a caption. The captions should be typed on a separate sheet. The appropriate place of the figure should be identified in the margin of the text.

Line diagrams and graphs: These should be prepared on separate sheets. Letterings, if any, should be clear and of high quality. Photographs should be produced on glossy papers. Digital snaps will be preferred.

Tables: these should be submitted in separate pages and these must be utilized only for essential data and presentation of results. Titles and column headings in tables should be brief and descriptive.

Footnotes: use footnotes only when essential and keeps them as short as possible. They should be numbered, using Arabic superscript in the text, following any punctuation.

Bias in Language: Constructions that might imply bias against or stereotypes based on gender, ethnicity, disability, age, etc. should be avoided.

Language and Spelling: Use British/American words and spellings in all cases.

References: Only The most relevant references should be given and these are to be typed at the end of the paper. All references refereed to the text, tables, and figures of a manuscript must be combined in a single list, numbered consecutively in their order of first appearance and arranged in the same order at the end of the text. It should follow an anthropological style.

Quotations: Verbatim citation of fewer than 40 words may be incorporated in the text enclosed with double quotation marks. A quotation of more than 40 words may be displayed as freestanding block, indenting five spaces from the margin. Do not use quotation marks for the block quotation.

Boxes: Summarized bibliography and historical notes presented at a level different from the main body of the text (and which nevertheless enhance the interest of the main theme) can be placed as boxed items. Such boxed items should fit in a printed page, not exceed 200 words, and should be use Arial font.

Appendices: All appendices should be numbered consecutively and typed on separate sheet.

Book reviews: Book reviews should be submitted in duplicate. A review should not exceed 1500 words. Please include name and address of the author/s and publisher. Try to give a holistic view of the book. Unsolicited reviews will rarely be considered. The following types of books will be reviewed. 1. Textbook of cognate disciplines (science, technology, medicine, etc) useful to various competitive examinations 2. General Books. 3. Published Ph.D. theses. 4. Well-known classics. 5. Websites or CDs related to various issues. New and relatively new books will be preferred. Publisher can directly send a copy of the book (maximum 4-books at a time) to a given address for review.

Offprint/Reprints: separate offprint(s) will not be supplied. Authors who are not subscribers may buy a single copy of the issue in which their article has been published. The order, along with payment, should be sent with the corrected proofs. There is no page charge. However, authors who would like to get reprints they should send Rs. 100/- extra (for five reprints -with /without cover). If the reprint order is not received on time, later request for any more reprints cannot be entertained.
