Abstract

The aim and objective of the proposed work is to understand, investigate and estimate the water quality of drinking water of Khonsar city of Iran. The objectives of this study will be centred on the following: (1) To evaluate water quality in terms of the presence of some bacteria, heavy metals ions such as Zn, Cd, Pb, Fe, total bacterial count and Coliform. (2) To investigate other chemical parameters like Do, CoD, PH, alkalinity as well as physical factors like temperature and conductivity. (3) To evaluate total hardness, CaCO3SI (calcium carbonate saturation index), BoD, sulphates, nitrates, phosphates, nitrites, etc. (4) To suggest measures for improvement of water quality, if deviations are formed against established set standards. High alkaline PH may be an individual parameter, which influences the abundance in concentration of calcium carbonate.
