The Integration of CALL Programmes in Language Instruction

Assisted language learning (CALL) is widely accepted -learning process, particularly English language teaching (ELT). Many educational institutions all over the world have integrated computer technology into language instruction. However, this integration is not successful in many institutions. There are many issues that hinder the integration of into language learning. The use of CALL has provided a powerful medium for language learning from both teaching and learning perspectives. However, the integration of CALL programmes in language instruction requires a certain level of sensitivity and understanding of how to use the programmes appropriately. Study aims to evaluate the efficiency of assisted English classes and the necessity of developing sound methodological strategies adjusted to the new technology. It highlights the issues of CALL in English as foreign language (EFL) contexts and explores the most important factors to be considered to improve the use of CALL in these contexts.
