Abstract

This study reviews the major forms of violent crimes against both men and women in Pakistan. The crimes covered in this research are murder, rape, harassment, kidnapping, stove burning, acid burning, blast, suicide, target killing and injuries in assault. The data was gathered via content analysis of an Urdu newspaper from 1980 to 2010 with a gap of 5 years. The trends revealed that women are more exposed to violence than men and the perpetrators were also mainly men.
