This is the first time that a comprehensive survey of Persian grammar evolution has been done. From the hundreds of Persian grammar books, this book was selected. this book were the pioneer to be the founder of innovative Persian grammar theories in their time and were the most influential on their addressees and till now they are still used in educational academic institutes for research and in Persian grammar research in Iran. The Persian Language Grammar is by Natel Khanlari This book contains six chapters. In the introduction the author points out that on the contrary of other previous grammar books which are influenced by Arabic and French grammar and start from word, based on new method he considered sentence as the unit of speech and takes it examines it as the initial topic to discuss. When he described other smaller components such as subjects predicate.
In the first chapter the definitions of sentence, subject and predicate are presented and immediately verb and its structure is given as a word. Noun and pronoun are discussed in the second chapter and also sentence components and its types, omission in the sentence, simple and compound sentences, adverbs, particles and complements are studied. Immediately after that verb moods and word structure (noun, adjective pronoun) and their decomposition and composition are provided. The third chapter encompasses the structure of sentence and related definitions, coherence among independent sentences, compound sentences and conditional sentences. Chapter four is devoted to verb suffixes and also a related discussion on the view of historical development is presented. In chapter five the author supplied scattered conjugational and syntactic discussions under the title of “notes on Persian language” which were not given enough attention earlier in that book.
Chapter six which is the last chapter the author talks about notes about the eloquence of Persian language and goes astray to talk about grammar. The research method in this study was based on descriptive and library and note taking method. The traditional grammar changes were studied and its ability to provide a scientific inclusive, comprehensive and economic theory was analyzes. And the goal is that “traditional Persian grammars are successful in dealing with sentence as a basic concept in grammar”. The findings in this article can be used to provide a scientific, inclusive and comprehensive grammar book which can lead to simpler and less voluminous books which are user-friendly and can reach grammar with more simplicity and in shorter period of time. Therefore, to prevent the prescriptively of suggestions with the aim of improvement in the theory of Persian grammar we focus on the existing facilities and recommend the easiest strategies for achieving them with lowest expenses and resistance.
The findings in this research can be helpful to present a better, simpler and more effective grammar which can be used by other languages (Especially those languages belonging to the Persian language family such as Tajiki in Tajikistan and Dari in Afghanistan).
