Social Intelligence and Educational Needs of Grama Panchayath women Members

Abstract

The present study aims to assess the Social Intelligence and Educational Needs of Grama Panchayat Women members and to explore the relationship between the above said variables. The sample of 50 Grama Panchayath women members from Malavalli taluk of Mandya district was selected by adopting simple random sampling technique. Social Intelligence was assessed with the help of Social Intelligence Scale developed by N. K Chadda and Usha Ganeshan (1986) and Educational needs was assessed with the help of Educational Needs, Questionnaires constructed by the investigator. Descriptive survey method was adopted for the study. The data obtained from the survey was analyzed using percentage analysis and Pearson Correlation. It was found that I). 58% of Grama Panchayat members possesses average social intelligence and only 32% of members possess more Education Needs. III. Positive relationship was found between Social Intelligence and Education Needs of Grama Panchayat women members but it is not statistically significant.
