Application of nitrogen resulted in significant increase in yield but there was no response to applied|nitrogen greater than 60 kg N/ha. However, yield increased upto 120 kg N/ha. Higher application of nitrogen upto 120 kg/ha depressed the weed population but weed dry weight was not affected. All the herbicides provedfequally effective. Herbicides helped in greatei utilisation of nitrogen even from lower level of nitrogen.
