Abstract

Results of two field experiments conducted at Central Rice Research Institute, Cuttack indicated that the weed flora of transplanted rice comprised mainly of sedges viz., Cyperus difformis, Fimbristylis miliacea Vahl. and Scirpus supinus L. causing an average loss in grain yield by 9%. Studies on evaluation of different formulatations of granular herbicides revealed a very broad range ot choice existed among the herbicides viz., 2, 4-D EE, butachlor+2, 4-D IPE, oxa-diazon and oxyfluorfen for effective weed control in transplanted rice culture.
