Field experiments were conducted during the winter seasons of 1979–80 and 1980–81 at the Research Farm of Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar, India, in order to study the effects ot various herbicides on weed control in wheat. Ths application of isoproturon as Grami-non at 0.75 and 1.00 kgai/ha, as Arelon at 0.75–1.0 kgai/ha and as Tolkan at 1.0 kgai/ha, and Chlortoluron as Dicuran at 0.5 kgai/ha and as Dicuran MA at 1.0 and 1.5 kgai/ha effectively controlled Phalaris minor End other weeds and gave significantly higher grain yield than the unweeded control. Higher doses of Arelon, Dicuran and Dicuran MA controlled the weeds but had an adverse effect on crop growth and hence on grain yield of wheat.
