Weed Flora in Winter Crops at Narsinghpur (Madhya Pradesh), India
Abstract
In Central Narmada Valley under "Haveli system" of cultivation (impounding water in bunded fields during monsoon) in Narsinghpur district, the major dicot weeds in wheat crop consisted of Chenopodium album L., Vicia saliva L., Sonchus arvensis L., Cichorium Intybus L., Anagallis arvensis L., Chrozophora parvifolia Koltz. ex. Schwfth., Lathyrus aphaca L., and Convolvulus arvensis L. Amongst monocot weeds Dichanthium annulatum Stapf., Cyperus rotundas * L., Eragrostis diarrhena Steud., Saccharum spontancum L. and Cynodon dactylon Pers. were the most dominant.Phalaris minor Retz. Avena fatua L. and Parthenium hysterophorus L. were also found at low frequencies as the new introductions.
