Abstract

Preplant incorporation of fluchloralin at 2.0 kg/ha gave significantly higher cured leaf yields as compared to hoeing and was on par with weed-free check. Fluch-loralin at 1.0 and 2.0 kg/ha and preplant application of diphenamid at 4.0 kg/ha were highly selective to tobacco crop. Preplant application of alachlor at 2.0 and 3.0 kg/ha caused tobacco leaf injury. Preplant application of pebulate and fluchloralin each at 3.0 kg/ha were highly effective against Orobanche.
