Weed management studies were made on rainfed groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) in sandy loam soils at J. N. Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur. Hand weeding twice (15 and 30 DAS) produced the highest pod yields which this wai at par with the yields obtained by preemergence application of a'achlor, pendimethalin and oxadiazon each 1.5 kg/ha applied alone or in Seguence with hand hoeing at 30 DAS, and one hand hoeing at 30 DAS. All these treatments were found almost equally effective in contro-lling the associated weeds. Herbicides alone or in combination with hand hoeing at 30 DAS appeared to be more economical.
