Abstract

In field studies conducted for two years efficient weed control in sugarcane was obtained from four monthly weedings or two tank mix applications of asulam (3.4 kg/ha) and ioxynil (1.4 kg'ha) at postemergenece followed by one hand weeding 90 days after planting gave satisfactory weed control. All these treatments gave significant increase in sugarcane and sugar yields over weedy check and resulted in higher monetary returns as compared to other treatments, except the combination of cyanazine and atrazine.
