A field experiment OD weed control in cauliflower (Snowball-16) using three herbicides at different doses with or without cultural operation was conducted to compare the relative yield of the crop at the Horticultural Research Centre of the Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar in a randomized block design with three replications during winter season of 1984 and 1985. Post-mergence application of Sethoxydim 1.5 kg/ha in combination with one manual weeding 45 days after transplanting (d a t) proved most effective in controlling weeds. Uncontrolled weeds reduced the curd yield of cauliflower by 61.4 percent. Alachlor 0.75 kg/ha (pre-emergence) with hand weeding 45 d a t proved second best.
