Study on the Comparative Efficacy of Herbicides in Potato Under Mid-Hill Conditions

A field experiment was conducted in spring season of 1982 and 1983 at the research farm of Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University, Palampur (H.P). On an average 64.70 percent reduction in tuber yield due to uncontrolled weeds was observed as compared with weed free plots. Fluchloralin (pre-emergence) 0.72 kg/ha produced significantly higher tuber yield and lower weed density. N and P removal by weeds was higher than case of unwarranted check as compared to herbicidal treatments.
