Abstract

Echinochloa colomim was the dominant weed in the spring mungbean. Three or more irrigations (15 em CPE or less) produced significantly higher density and dry weight of E colomim than no irrigation. Total dry wcighl of weeds increased with the frequency of irrigation. E. colnum and Chenopodium album were controlled effectively with the application of fiuchloralin or pendimethalin «t 1 0 kg/ha. Grain and straw yields with three irrigations at 15 cm CPE were higher than no irrigation or one irrigaton. Fluchloralin and pendimethalin at 1.0 kg/ha, though increased grain yield significantly over weedy check, did not prove as effective as weed free check.
