Abstract
Field experiments conducted during kharif season of 1985 and 1986 revealed that the total weed dry matter was reduced by variety T-49 (indeterminate), planting soybean at narrow row spacing (30 cm), two hand weedings (20+40 d a s) followed by alachlor 2.5 kg/ha. The reduction in grain yield due to weeds was 50% in weedy check plot. The highest grain yield was obtained with two hand weedings (20+40 d a s).
