Abstract

An experiment on weed management studies in different rice cultivars was carried out at the University Farm of Rajendra University, Pusa, during Kharif 1983 and 1984. Hand weeding gave higher yield as compared to butachlor and pendimethalin. Of the Six varieties tested only R. D. 201 was found to be sensitive to both the herbicides. Significantly higher number of panicles, more fertile spikelets and higher grain yield were ootained with the variety IET-6669.
