Abstract

Two years study was conducted at Bajaura (Kullu) to evaluate the critical period of weed removal and the effect of weed competition on maize (Zeamays L.) with different management treatments. The highest yield of grain (32.2 q/ha) and stover (80.9 q/ha) were recorded in the treatment where weed free condition was maintained through out the crop growth period. Critical period of crop-weed competition was observed from 20 to 60 days after sowing.
