Abstract

Abttract: Studies were conducted in pot as well at in field at Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur during 1987–88 to findout the effective control measure for Ageratum conyzoides L. Glyphosate (1.0 and 0.5 kg ha-0, diuron (1.50 kg and 0.75 kg ha-1), atrazine (2.0 and 1.0 kg ha-1), and common salt (20% and 10% solution) were effective in controlling this weed. DOWCO 433 liquid (0.2kg ha-1), 2, 4-D ester (1. 0kg ha-1) and dalapon (4.8 kg ha-1) followed by 2, 4-D Na salt (1. 5kg ha-1) were also effective in killing this weed to a significant level as compared to untreated control. It was further observed that their was no regeneration even after 75 days after application of herbicides.
