Residual Effect of Herbicides in Irrigated Groundnut (Archis hypogaea)

Abstract

Experiments were carried out to study the residual effect of herbicides applied in groundnut on the succeeding crops. Application of imazethapyr more than 75 g/ha affected test crops I ike cotton and sorghum when sown imnidiately after the harvest of groundnut. Residual effect had reciprocal relationship with time interval between harvest of groundnut and sowing of succeeding crops. Under hot and dry weather conditions, the residual effect was not observed.
