The highest weed control efficiency and weed suppression ity index at 21 das were recorded with pendimethal in 1.5 kg/ha. Echinochoa colona and Panicum ripens were resistant to atrazine application, but pendimethalin controlled these weeds effectively. Atrazine and glyphosate were more effective against Cyperus rotundus than pendimethalin. Pendimethalin 1.5 kg/ha, handweeding (twice) and atrazine 1.0 kg/ha pre-emergence + glyphosate 1. 5 kg/ha at 42 das registered 134,107 and 98% increase in grain yield over unweeded control, respectively. No significant increase in grain yield was recorded by extra fertilizer application, whereas, weed growth increased significantly with each increment in fertilizer level.
