Abstract

Creation of weed free situation through manual weeding twice at 15 and 30 days after sowing (das), at 15 and 45 das and 30 and 45 das, and thrice at 15,30 and 45 das resulted in significant decrease in population and dry matter of weeds in direct sown upland rice. Weed removal at 15 and 30, 30 and 45 or 15, 30 and 45 das resulted in significantly higher dry matter, better yield attributes and yield during the years.
