Abstract

The economic profitabiIity of integrated weed management treatments of ah experiment conducted during Kharif 1979 and 1980 at Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palanpur was worked out. Integration of chemical weed control with maize plant population of 75,000 per hectare, 50 per cent higher than the recomnended fertility and inter cropping of soybean in between two rows of maize resulted in significantly highest gross and net return. However, significantly highest benefit/cost ratio was obtained when 50 per cent lower than the reconmended fertility was applied in maize with 60,000 population intercropped with soybean, and managing weeds through chemicals.
