Abstract

Highest weed control efficiency (96.42%) and grain yield (23.50 q/ha) was recorded in the treatment of two hand weeding (20+40 d a s) and realised a higher net return Rs. 7798/ha during 1985 and Rs. 8648/ha during 1986. Net return also increased by the variety PK-262 (determinaie) against variety T-49 (indeterminate), and row spacing 30 cm (narrow) as compared to 60 cm (wider) row spacing at constant plant population (0.4 m/ha).
