In a 2-years study, application of atrazine to maize at 2.0 kg/ha proved quite effiective in controlling weeds (67%) and enhancing seed yield by 143% over control in mid hills of Meghalaya. Tank mixing of Triton X-100 to atrazine I kg/ha was as effiective asmanual weeding (62% WCE). Application of atrazine at 10 days after emergence neither controlled weeds effectively nor produced seed yield comparable to its pre-emcrgence application.
