The application of metribuzin, oxadiazon and oxyfluorfen at both the levels had 83 to 89% weed control efficiency and controlled annual grasses, icdges and broad leaf weeds and yielded at par with one hand weeding. These herbicidal treatments significantly reduced the NPK uptake by weeds. Haloxyfopmethyl and fluazifopbutyl controlled only grasses. Amongst herbicides, the maximum yield (1322 kg/ha) was obtained with oxyfluorfen at 0.2 kg/ha followed by fiuchloralin 1.5 (1308 kg), metribuzin 0.25 kg (1301 kg) and oxadiazon 1.0 kg (1295 kg).
