The exposure of under ground unber of C. rotundas to sun through deep ploughings in summer followed by 2,4-D (1.2 kg/ha) application after commencing pf rains was found effective to control. Cypeurs infestation to a satisfactory level and for greater economic return in maize-potato sequence. Raising of pearlmillet (green fodder) or Sesamum (green mpnure) during summer was also found-advantageous in reducing C. roiundus in succeeding crops of maize and potato.
