Abstract

The total energy utilization for riee cultivation and energy used for weed management practices per hectare were higher in direct seeded than tranplanted rice. But total and net energy received from rice product was higher in case of tranplanted than direct seeded rice which increased output input energy ratio. The energy utilized for weed control in transplanted and direct seeded crops was more for irechanical weeding than manual and chemical weeding. The percent increase in gross and net return over unweeded were higher in manual weed control than chemical and mechanical methodt.
