Abstract

Pendimethalin as pre-emergence, isoproturon and 2,4-D as post-emergence at their different doses caused significant reduction in weed biomass production and increased grain yields of wheat at Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa (Bihar). Weed Control efficiency was lower in hand weeding ihrn the herbicides. The highest mean grain yield was obtained with pendiinethalin 1.5 kg/ha (Pre-emergence) and isoproturon 1.5 kg/ha (Post-em.) and the lowest in the unweeded check. The variety HUW 206 showed some sensitivity to high doss of 2,4-D (1.6 kg/ha) but the other varieties did not show sensitivity to any of the herbicides tried.
