Abstract

A field study carried out in a sandy loam soil at Hawalbagh Farm of Vivekannnda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Shala, Almora during Kharif 1984 and 1985; showed. that pre-emergence application of metolachlor 1 Okg ha, alachlor 2.0 kg'ha, oxyfluorfen 0.2 kgiha or pre-plant incorporation of fluchloralin + one hand weeding. was as effective! as handwecdinj twiee (30 and 45 days after sowing) in controlling the weeds’ and enhancing the seed yield of rainfed soybean crop in hills. Use of fluchloralin alone at the of 0 5 kg ha as pre-plant incorporation and bentazon 1.5 kg/ha as post-emergence were not founds to be effective.
