Abstract

Field experiments were conducted at Agronomy Research Farm of N. D. University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Faizabad during kharif, 1987 and 1988. The appiicarion of thicbencarb 1.5 Kg/ha pre-em, supplemented with two hand weedings given at 20 and 40 d. a. s. (days after sowing) recorded the highest weed control efficiency and also prouced the grain yield of crop comparable to the yield of Weed free treatment. The unchecked weed growth reduced the crop yield by 69.8 and 68.4 per cent as compared with weed free treatment in first and second years, respectively.
