Contnbution of the Department of Agronomym Punjabrao Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola-444104.
A field experiment conducted at the Agronomy Department Farm, Punjabrao Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola during the kharif season of 1987–88 and 1988–89 revealed that pre-emergence application of atrazine 1 kg/ha+two weedings produced lowest biomass of weeds and proved best. This treatment also recorded lower weed index than pre-emergence, application of atrazine 1 kg/ha with one weeding or 0.90 kg/ha ethyl ester of 2, 4-D/ha. Pre-emergence application of atrazine 1 kg/ha+ two weedings at 45 and 60 DAS out yielded all other treatments in respect of grain yield.
